Oil fire at PSE&G facility quickly controlled

BURLINGTON CITY A small oil fire that started during demolition work at an inactive PSE&G generating station Wednesday afternoon was quickly brought under control, the utility said.

BURLINGTON CITY A small oil fire that started during demolition work at an inactive PSE&G generating station Wednesday afternoon was quickly brought under control, the utility said.

Fire crews responded around 2 p.m. to the station at 901 West Broad Street. The station is being demolished, and the fire started during the work, PSE&G spokeswoman Melissa Ficuciello said.

No one was injured in the fire and it was under control by around 3 p.m. Ficuciello said there were no health hazards or toxic leaks associated with the blaze.
