Driver killed in crash identified as Evesham man

Authorities yesterday identified the motorist killed in an Evesham crash over the weekend as township resident Shawn English, 19.

A pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Thomas Thorn Jr., of Tabernacle, struck English's vehicle as it was crossing Route 70 on Maple Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

A preliminary investigation showed that Thorn, who remained in stable condition yesterday, disregarded the traffic signal before his truck hit English's vehicle, according to authorities. No charges had been filed yesterday as the investigation continued. - Maya Rao
