Record-setting lottery jackpots

These are the biggest prizes ever for Powerball, Mega Millions and the Big Game.

A Florida ticket has won Powerball's massive jackpot, which wound up at $590.5 million, below the estimated $600 million. Although it wasn't a new U.S. record, or even Powerball's record for cash, it did set a new record for a Powerball annuity.

Perhaps most mind-boggling of all, however, that it's far and away the biggest jackpot ever won by a single ticket.

Here's a list of the all-time records.

Biggest jackpot in world history. The Spanish Christmas lottery has a top tier called El Gordo, or "The Fat One," that paid $950 million to 180 winning tickets in 2012.

Biggest U.S. jackpots, biggest Mega Million jackpots. $656 million annuity, $471 million cash, Mega Millions, won March 30, 2012, by three tickets, sold in Maryland, Illinois and Kansas.

Biggest Powerball annuity. biggest annuity hit by a single ticket, most cash won by a single ticket. $590.5 million annuity, won in Florida on May 18, 2013. Cash jackpot of $370.9 million was No. 3 for U.S., No. 2 for Powerball.

Biggest Powerball cash prize. $384.7 million, won Nov. 28, 2012, by two tickets, sold in Missouri and Arizona. Annuity was $587.5 million, No. 2 ever for Powerball.
