Robert L. Frank, 90, a former financial analyst, died Monday, April 18, of pneumonia at Harlee Manor Nursing Facility in Springfield, Delaware County, where he had resided for 31/2 years.

The third of eight children, Mr. Frank was a dedicated member of the Springfield Township community, where he grew up, delivered newspapers, and served as an altar boy at St. Francis of Assisi parish.

He was a Boy Scout - certified as an Eagle Scout in 1943 - and remained active in scouting throughout most of his life. When he was 12, he delivered the Evening Bulletin in his neighborhood. He was paid two-thirds of a cent for each paper he delivered, his family said.

After graduating from Springfield High School, Mr. Frank joined the Army in 1943, and was trained as a medic. He was stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, until being honorably discharged in 1946.

After his service, Mr. Frank attended Drexel Institute of Technology, graduating in 1950 with a degree in commerce.

The following year, he married Margaret Ann Randall. They were together for more than 60 years, until her death in 2012 of complications from lymphoma.

After getting his degree, he went to work for 33 years as a financial analyst in foreign banking for the DuPont Co., retiring in 1986.

Mr. Frank was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity for 68 years, and dedicated much of his time to the Springfield Lions Club. He was awarded the club's Melvin Jones Fellowship in 1998, its highest recognition for dedication to humanitarian work.

In his free time, Mr. Frank also enjoyed bowling, yard work, and playing bridge.

"He had a very busy life. He was never still," said his daughter Margaret Ann. "I have so many pictures and articles of him in the Springfield Press."

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Frank is survived by daughters Barbara Jean Stettler, Mary Patricia Bushong, and Joan Elizabeth Kobasic; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A visitation will begin at noon Friday, April 22, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m., at St. Dorothy parish, 4910 Township Line Rd., Drexel Hill. Interment is at SS. Peter and Paul Garden Mausoleum, Marple Township.
