Delco SPCA features photos in adoption efforts

The Delaware County SPCA has teamed up with two local photographers to help get dogs up for adoption.

The Delaware County SPCA has teamed up with two local photographers to help get dogs up for adoption.

The shelter and photographers Erik and Deanna Fike set up a "photo booth" at the shelter to show off some of their longtime canine residents.

The couple runs Lovebirds, a Philadelphia-based company that specializes in graphic design and photographic services, and uses the photo booth concept at weddings and events.

The concept has been used successfully at other shelters throughout the country to help promote animals up for adoption, said Justine Calgiano, director of public relations for the shelter.

The dogs enjoyed a 20-minute photo session filled with treats, bubbles, and belly-rubs, said Calgiano.
