A Chester County man was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a suspected drunk driver in a Delaware beach town, police said Tuesday.

Delaware State Police said 48-year-old Bryan Angle, of Pocopson, was hit Monday evening when a pickup truck driver did not remain stopped at a stop sign and crossed into his path at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Mulberry Knoll Road in Lewes.

Police said Angle tried to avoid the collision and applied his brakes, but was struck by the truck and thrown from his 1992 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Angle, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:30 p.m. crash.

The pickup driver, identified as 49-year-old Brian Donohue of Ocean View, Del., was not injured.

Police said Donohue was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Authorities said the incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
