Philly VA's office to hold town hall Saturday

Philadelphia's Veterans Affairs benefits office will host a town hall forum Saturday for local veterans and their families to voice feedback about the quality of VA service.

The meeting, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., comes in the wake of a blistering report on the office issued by the department's Inspector General last month. Investigators found, among other concerns, that more than 31,000 veteran inquiries had languished for months and thousands of pieces of mail from veterans had been marked as unidentifiable, despite having phone numbers or return addresses.

The event, being held at 5000 Wissahickon Avenue in Germantown, will also include a claims clinic from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. where veterans can seek help with their cases.
