Authorities are investigating an armed robbery at a Temple University student residence.

The school said in an alert that no one was injured in the robbery at the house on the 1500 block of North 13th Street.

Two men were seen outside the rowhome prior to the incident, Temple spokesman Brandon Lausch said, and approached two residents as they were entering at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The assailants brandished a gun and forced their way inside, authorities said.

Philadelphia police said one suspect pulled a black handgun from his sweatshirt pocket and ordered the victims to the floor.

The armed man then asked, "where the person with the money?"

One of the victims called the name of a roommate who lives in the ground-floor bedroom, police said. When that young man opened the bedroom door, the suspect ordered the victims into the room, where he held them at gunpoint, according to police.

The other suspect then entered the bedroom and demanded: "Where is the money?"

The assailants forced the victims, a 23-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, to open a safe in the bedroom, police said.

The suspects took $5,000 and a quarter pound of marijuana before fleeing from the residence, which is not owned by the university.

Lausch said investigators believe the robbery was not a random incident.

No arrests were made. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

Police described one suspect as a black man in his early to mid 20s, wearing a black hoodie, pants, skullcap and gloves, and armed with a handgun. The other was described as a black man in his early to mid 20s with a dark complexion, short black hair and wearing a gray hoodie and gloves.
