Authorities are investigating after a bomb threat was reported at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown.

Montgomery County dispatchers said the threat was reported at 8:35 a.m.

The courthouse was evacuated and police K-9s are searching the site.

The nature of the threat wasn't disclosed.

Val Arkoosh, an anesthesiologist who lost a congressional race last year, had been scheduled to be sworn in as a county commmissioner at the courthouse Thursday morning.

The swearing-in ceremony was moved to One Montgomery Plaza due to the reported threat, a county spokesman said.

Arkoosh is replacing Leslie S. Richards, who resigned to become the state's transportation secretary.
