Fund for children reaches $109,000

SOUDERTON WORD-FM (88.9), a Sellersville faith-based radio station, and the Souderton-Telford Rotary, which teamed with the Univest Foundation to establish the Stone and Flick Children Fund, announced that the fund had reached $109,538.62 as of Tuesday.

The fund was started to assist the Stone daughters and Anthony Flick, surviving children who lost their parents and sibling in a killing spree in Montgomery County on Dec. 15.

"We are overwhelmed by the support of the community so far," said Dave Baker, manager of the radio station. "It's heartwarming to see people coming together to help those in need."

To meet the ongoing needs of the Stone daughters and Flick, the Souderton-Telford Rotary and WORD-FM have set a fund-raising goal of $500,000.

To donate online, go to www.WordFM.org. Checks can be made payable to Univest Foundation and designate "Stone and Flick Children Fund" in the memo line. Mail to Univest Foundation, 14 N. Main St., Box 559, Souderton, Pa. 18964. If you want to direct money to one of the children, include his or her name in the check memo line.

Direct questions to the Univest Foundation, 215-721-2405.
