Former reporter hired by county Democrats

NORRISTOWN The Montgomery County Democratic Committee has hired Tom Infield, a former Inquirer staff writer, as its new communications director.

From 1982 to 2013, Infield covered politics as well as national, state and local news for The Inquirer. He covered dozens of elections and profiled the rising clout of the county Democratic Committee in the 2000s.

After leaving the paper, he worked as policy director for Allyson Y. Schwartz's gubernatorial campaign. - Jessica Parks
