Motorcycle ride to benefit pediatric brain tumor fund

PHOENIXVILLE The Philadelphia Ride for Kids, a charity motorcycle ride of 40 to 50 miles to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, is set for Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.

Part of a national series of motorcycle rides that aim "to eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors by funding medical research and family support," the Philadelphia-area race starts at Valley Forge Christian College, 1401 Charlestown Rd., Phoenixville.

The suggested minimum donation to ride in the event is $40, and online registration is open until noon Friday.

On-site registration opens at 8 a.m. on Sunday and closes at 9:30 a.m. The ride is rain or shine.

According to the ride's website, approximately 28,000 people in the United States are living with the diagnosis of a pediatric brain tumor, with 13 more children diagnosed each day. The rides have raised more than $2 million since they started in 1984.
