PHILADELPHIA A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday in a two-car crash on I-95 in South Philadelphia that state police said was alcohol-related.

Around 2:55 a.m., a car driven south on I-95 near Broad Street by Gabriel Sanchez, 20, rear-ended one driven by Aaron Carbajal, 25, police said. Carbajal's car hit a barrier; Sanchez's car stopped in the middle lane.

Carbajal, of Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Sanchez's car was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Neither the passenger nor Sanchez had been wearing a seat belt, police said.

Sanchez, of Rocky Face, Ga., "displayed several indicators of intoxication" and will be charged in connection with the crash, police said. - Aubrey Whelan
