Stockton opens science building

GALLOWAY TWP. Richard Stockton College showed off its new science building this week, holding a ribbon-cutting Wednesday for the 66,350-square-foot Unified Science Center.

The $39.5 million structure expands the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics with laboratory space, classrooms, and offices.

The school says it graduates the highest number of math and science majors within the state college system, nearly 1 in 5 such students statewide.

The building made use of "green" design, including using sustainable materials and integrating the campus's existing geothermal heating and cooling system.
