Sister of women charged in fatal Cherry Hill crash is accused of hindering investigation

The sister of a woman accused of a fatal hit-and-run in Cherry Hill was charged Tuesday with hindering apprehension, township police said.

Gretchen M. Pollosco of Cherry Hill gave authorities false information about what happened after the hit-and-run her sister was involved in, police said. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court date Tuesday.

Her sister, Elisha A. Pollosco, 25, allegedly struck Binh Tsan on Route 70 West in Cherry Hill on Thursday, then drove her silver Pontiac Grand Am to her sister's home, police said.

Tsan, 25, died Saturday of blunt head trauma at Cooper University Hospital.

On Monday, Gretchen Pollosco, 27, told reporters that her sister said only that she had been in a fender bender and asked to park the Grand Am in the garage. The younger Pollosco did not reveal that she had hit someone, Gretchen Pollosco said.

Gretchen Pollosco said she realized Sunday that her sister was involved in the accident after seeing a description of the car on television.

Attempts by The Inquirer to reach Gretchen Pollosco on Tuesday were unsuccessful.

Elisha Pollosco was arrested Sunday after a witness identified her as the driver of the Grand Am. The witness told authorities that the car was parked in a driveway on the 200 block of Cross Keys Road in Berlin, authorities said. Elisha Pollosco lives there with her family.

Elisha Pollosco, a single mother of a 4-year-old, confessed and was arraigned Monday on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death and hindering apprehension, authorities said. She is in the Camden County Jail with bail set at $100,000.

Tsan worked at the Eric A. Shore law firm near Ranoldo Boulevard. On the day she was hit, she had not been feeling well and crossed Route 70 to get soup, said her boyfriend, Michael Medina, who accompanied her.

Cars stopped for the pair to cross Route 70. Elisha Pollosco was allegedly attempting to bypass traffic on the shoulder when she struck Tsan. The car grazed Medina, who was unhurt.
