Q: Will a methadone clinic bring an increase in crime to the area surrounding it?

A: Most research says that crime actually seems to decrease, because you're helping the people that are usually the ones involved in crime. They no longer have a need to steal to get money for drugs.

Q: How much time do patients spend at the clinics?

A: It's probably five to 15 minutes. [Patients] go in, get your dose and you're gone. Most clinics have a lot of rules about not loitering around the business, and they would kick people out of the program if they caused trouble.
