Dominique Toya Gibson, 26, was identified as the woman who died after she was pulled out of a two-alarm fire in a three-story apartment building in Darby Borough early Sunday.

Gibson died of "carbon monoxide intoxication due to soot and smoke inhalation," according to the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office, which released her autopsy report Sunday afternoon.

County officials said fire crews responded to a blaze on the second floor at 1016 Main St. just before 4 a.m. Upon arrival, they found smoke and flames shooting from the building and spreading quickly through its three units.

Crews found Gibson in the second-floor apartment, and medics transported her to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m., according to the medical examiner.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The fire was declared under control at 5:53 a.m. The cause remains undetermined.

6ABC reported that the apartment building was built in 1870, and at one point belonged to well-known Darby physician William Painter.
