N.J. man drowns in river near Lumberville

A 47-year-old Stockton, N.J., man drowned yesterday afternoon while swimming in the Delaware River near Lumberville, Bucks County. The man was swimming in an eddy off the main current near the Lumberville Foot Bridge when he went under just after 4 p.m., said Solebury Township Police Cpl. Jonathan Koretzky. Friends called 911. After a search by marine rescue units, the man was found in about 8 to 10 feet of water, said Point Pleasant Fire Company Chief Scott Fleischer, whose divers recovered the body. The man's name was withheld pending notification of relatives. - Larry King
