Boy, 13, is in critical condition after W. Phila. shooting

A 13-year-old boy was in critical condition last night after being shot twice in the stomach near Locust and South Ithan Streets in West Philadelphia, police said.

The boy, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia, then transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police offered no further information on the shooting, which occured at 3:30 p.m. - Tom Infield
