Police: Suspect arrested in hit-run that injured 2 women

Voorhees Township police say a suspect has been arrested in a weekend hit-and-run crash that seriously injured two women.

Authorities said an anonymous tip led officers to the driver in the crash, which happened about 6:40 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Avenue and County Route 561.

Local news reports identified the driver as 44-year-old Michelle Toussaint, of Berlin, N.J.

Two pedestrians, both women in their 20s, were walking near the southbound lanes of Route 561 when they were hit. They were hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The driver's vehicle has also been recovered, police said.
