Police: Note in McDonald’s bathroom leads to kidnapper’s arrest

A man is facing kidnapping and rape charges after the woman he allegedly abducted tipped off investigators with a note scrawled in makeup on the bathroom wall of a McDonald’s in Dover, Del.

A man is facing kidnapping and rape charges after the woman he allegedly abducted tipped off investigators with a note scrawled in makeup on the bathroom wall of a McDonald's in Dover, Del.

The note, which suggested its writer was being held against her will, was discovered shortly before noon Thursday at the McDonald's at 879 N. DuPont Highway, the Dover Police Department said in a news release.

Detectives reviewed video surveillance footage from the restaurant and neighboring businesses.

Based on the clothing the suspect and victim were wearing on film, officers determined they were likely on foot and searched the area, police said.

About three hours later, investigators found the pair outside the Dover Mall.

Suspect Brandon Turner, 28, of Rock Hall, Md., was taken into custody without incident, police said.

A subsequent investigation revealed Turner kidnapped the victim, a 25-year-old woman who is his estranged wife, on Oct. 23 from the area of North Little Creek Road, police said.

He allegedly took her to a home on Long Point Road, duct-taped her to a bed and raped her multiple times.

Police said he held her against her will for a week, until his arrest Thursday.

Investigators said they also learned Turner was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle that was reported stolen from the Delaware State Police Troop 9.

He is charged with 12 counts of second-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping, receiving stolen property, and breach of release for allegedly violating a no-contact order the victim had on file against him since Aug. 4.

Turner remains jailed at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $651,500 cash bond.
