Bullet found in Pa. middle school bathroom

An eastern Pennsylvania middle school was on lockdown today after a bullet was found in a boys' bathroom.

Nazareth Area School District officials say the bullet was found on the floor in a bathroom at Nazareth Area Middle School.

The district said in a statement that the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution as officials checked the lockers of eight-grade male students and scanned male students with a metal detector wand.

No bullets or other suspicious items were found on any students, officials said.

Authorities also reviewed video footage and interviewed students that were seen entering the bathroom area, the district said.

The lockdown at the school has ended.
