Body pulled from Delaware River

Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was pulled from the Delaware River this morning.

Delaware State Police said a crabber saw the body south of Pea Patch Island at about 6:30 a.m. and called authorities.

The Delaware City Fire Department brought the body to shore, police said.

Officials did not identify the person and did not have details on how the body ended up in the river.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the woman's identity and the cause and manner of her death.
