6 injured in SEPTA bus crash in Hartranft

Six SEPTA passengers were injured when the bus they were riding was in a crash with a car in North Philadelphia.

SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern said the eastbound Route 39 bus was involved in an accident on the 700 block of West Dauphin Street in the city's Hartranft section at about 7:40 a.m.

Six riders suffered non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

The bus operator wasn't harmed, and it wasn't immediately known whether anyone in the other vehicle was hurt.

Preliminary information indicated that the car struck the bus, though the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.

SEPTA didn't have information about how many passengers were on the bus at the time.
