3 teens killed in weekend Philly-area crashes

Three teenagers were killed in weekend crashes across the Philadelphia area.

The three accidents, which happened in Pennsauken, Chester County and Philadelphia, also left five other teens hurt.

The first crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, when a 15-year-old boy was ejected from the back seat of a vehicle that overturned on Route 73 in Pennsauken. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities had not released his identity as of this morning.

Three other teenagers who were in the vehicle were hospitalized with injuries authorities said were not life-threatening.

Then, a teenage girl was killed in a one-car crash in the Bustleton section of Philadelphia around 4 a.m. Sunday. A 19-year-old man lost control of his Ford Explorer when he was speeding on Grant Avenue and hit a tree near Krewstown Road, according to police.

The driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

About two hours later, at 6:15 a.m., 18-year-old Kristen Felkowski, of Wilmington, died when she lost control of her BMW on curve of Old Kennett Road near Burnt Mill Road in Kennett Township and struck a tree, Pennsylvania State Police said.

A 16-year-old passenger was hurt but survived, police said.
