Police have arrested the father of a 3-year-old Philadelphia boy who was critically wounded Saturday afternoon after he reportedly was shot in the head by one of his older brothers.

Sirhaven Williams, 36, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person, police said Sunday.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call of a juvenile with a gun on the 3600 block of North 18th Street in the city's Tioga section. They found the toddler with a gunshot wound to the forehead.

Officers took the child to Temple University Hospital, where he remained in "very critical condition" Sunday, police said.

Police told NBCPhiladelphia.com that three boys were home alone and a 6-year-old found a gun in a second-floor bedroom and pulled the trigger. Police would not comment on those specifics Sunday.
