A double shooting left one man dead Thursday night in the city's Strawberry Mansion section, police said.

Just before 8:25 p.m., a 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen while driving a Mercury Grand Marquis in the 1800 block of North 33rd Street, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The car jumped the curb into a grassy lot one block south. Police took him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:04 p.m.

A 32-year-old man sitting in the passenger seat suffered a graze wound to his head. He was taken by police to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. There were about a half-dozen bullet holes on the driver-side of the Grand Marquis, Small said.

Police were checking area surveillance cameras to see if the shooter was recorded on video.
