Man, 40, shot in Kensington

A 40-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot Monday afternoon in the city's Kensington section, police said.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Emerald Street, the man was shot once in the stomach by an unidentified male assailant. Police took the victim to Temple University Hospital.

The shooter fled in an unknown direction, police said.
