Gloucester City man sent to prison for child sex assault

A 27-year-old Gloucester City man was sentenced Friday to five years in New Jersey state prison for sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, prosecutors said.

Miguel Palillero pleaded guilty to a second-degree crime for sexually assaulting the girl from January 2013 to December 2014 in Westville. Superior Court Judge Robert P. Becker ordered that he serve a minimum of 85 percent of his prison term before becoming eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act.

After his release, Palillero will be subject to the reporting requirements and restrictions of Megan’s Law
