Pregnant woman found dead in suspicious North Philly house fire, police say

Police did not identify the woman but said she was five months' pregnant.

A 35-year-old pregnant woman was found dead Sunday morning inside a burning home in North Philadelphia and authorities believe the fire was suspicious.

Police did not identify the woman but said she was five months' pregnant.

First responders arrived at the home on the 2100 block of West Susquehanna Avenue around 7:42 a.m. and found the victim in the second-floor bedroom, police said. She was declared dead at the house at 8:11 a.m.

Police did not say why the fire was suspicious. An investigation was ongoing.
