Youth wrestling coach faces child porn charges in Montco

A suburban youth wrestling coach is facing charges of viewing and distributing child pornography.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office says detectives found more than 50 explicit images involving children on Thomas Porter's computer.

Porter, an assistant wrestling coach at Neshaminy High School and youth wrestling coach for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Wrestling Team, admitted to investigators that he viewed child pornography and uploaded explicit images for distribution, prosecutors said.

Investigators began looking into the case in June, when authorities received information that a computer in Hatboro was disseminating child pornography from the email address freestyler149@aim.com. That email address was then linked to Porter, prosecutors said.

Porter, 50, was being held Monday morning at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 16.

He is charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.
