Six hospitalized in Olney house fire

Six people were hospitalized early Sunday after a fire tore through a house in the Olney section of Northwest Philadelphia.

Flames broke out around 2:15 a.m. inside a two-story home near Seventh Street and West Nedro Avenue, the fire department said.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control about a half-hour later.

Six people were taken to local hospitals, according to the fire department. Though their ages and conditions weren't immediately available, their injuries were reportedly believed to be non-life-threatening.

The incident has been referred to the fire marshal's office for investigation to determine a possible cause.
