Service on SEPTA's Media/Elwyn Line was suspended Sunday afternoon after a Regional Rail train struck a car in Delaware County.

The car somehow became stuck on the tracks near the Wallingford Station before it was hit about 3 p.m., a SEPTA spokeswoman said.

No injuries were reported to the train's passengers. They were walked back to the Wallingford Station and placed on shuttle buses to complete their trips, the spokeswoman said.

There wasn't word on whether anyone inside the car suffered injury.

Service on the line was suspended as police investigated. Passengers were advised to check SEPTA's website for alternate transit suggestions.
