Lil Wayne hospitalized after seizure

Rap superstar Lil Wayne is rumored to be in a Los Angeles hospital and in critical condition, according to gossip and celebrity website TMZ.

The 30-year-old, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., reportedly suffered seizures late Tuesday but was released from the hospital, TMZ reported. No other news sources have confirmed that intial hospitalization.

TMZ then reported at 8:16 p.m. (EST) tonight that Lil Wayne was found unconscious in his hotel by a bodyguard and again hospitalized hours after the first incident of seizures. He is reportedly in the Intensive Care Unit of Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

At 10:00 p.m. (EST) the Associated Press reported that the multiplatinum rapper was hospitalized in Los Angeles and that reps confirmed he was "recovering." A person close to the superstar rapper's camp who asked for anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter confirmed to The Associated Press that Lil Wayne had a seizure.

A Friday-night tweet on Lil Wayne's account reassured his fans: "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.".
