Officials seek ways to combat child predators

UPPER PROVIDENCE Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane is scheduled to meet Wednesday with agents from the Child Predator Section, State Sen. John Rafferty (R., Montgomery), members of the state House, and other local, county, and state law enforcement officials to discuss ways to combat child predators and to unveil a new state forensics truck.

UPPER PROVIDENCE Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane is scheduled to meet Wednesday with agents from the Child Predator Section, State Sen. John Rafferty (R., Montgomery), members of the state House, and other local, county, and state law enforcement officials to discuss ways to combat child predators and to unveil a new state forensics truck.

The roundtable discussion is scheduled to be held at the Upper Providence Community Hall, and a news conference is set to follow at 10:30 a.m.

Nearly two dozen government and law enforcement officials from surrounding municipalities are expected to attend, including representatives from the Fraternal Order of Police and the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association. State Reps. Mike Vereb (R., Montgomery) and Warren Kampf (R., Chester), and Montgomery County Commissioners Leslie S. Richards, a Democrat, and Bruce L. Castor Jr., a Republican, are also expected to participate. - Inquirer staff
