Police are looking for a Newtown Square man who disappeared a week ago under what investigators say are "suspicious" circumstances.
Yaron J. Bernstein, 22, was last seen as he left a friend's apartment on the 1100 block of North 3rd Street in Philadelphia's the Northern Liberties section around 6 p.m. Nov. 13 when he got into a car. Police have video of Bernstein leaving the building.
He was only supposed to be gone for about 30 minutes but failed to return, said Det. Sgt. John Newell of the Newtown Township Police Department.
"His phone was turned off shortly after," said Newell. Bernstein has not contacted family or friends since, he said.
Police said Bernstein, a music production artist, may have been involved in alleged criminal behavior involving drugs.
"The lack of contact with family is unusual," said Newell.
He said Bernstein attended school in Buffalo and has lived in Pittsburgh and New York City.
Anyone with information is asked to call Newell at 610-356-0600.
