A former Chester County high school swim coach will be spending seven to 23 months in jail for engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a member of the team.

Kenneth William Fuller, 48, who pleaded guilty Jan. 16, to corruption of minors, harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, furnishing alcohol to a minor and tampering of records was sentenced Tuesday.

In addition to the jail sentence, Fuller will serve eight years probation and was ordered to undergo treatment. He is eligible for work release after four months, according to the Clerk of Courts office.

Fuller, of East Goshen, was the head coach of the Bayard Rustin High School swim team in West Chester.

In May, a 17 year-old girl on the team told police Fuller had taken her to a Kennett Square Hotel, given her beer and the two had sex.

A few days later, Fuller posed as the girl's father and called school officials telling them the teen had a doctor's appointment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Fuller had given the girl a document from the hospital to show the school.

The two then met at the same hotel for sex. Fuller and the girl also met at Thornbury Park where he gave her more beer and had sex. He was later arrested.
