Body found in Wissahickon Creek

A body was found face down in Wissahickon Creek on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The body was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:18 p.m., police said. The body was found at 2:02 p.m. in the water by Lincoln Drive and Ridge Avenue in East Falls, near where the creek empties into the Schuylkill River.

A marine unit was called in to recover the body. No information was released on its gender or race.
