A 36-year-old man was shot and killed during what police believe was a home invasion robbery early this morning in Philadelphia's Kingsessing section.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the homicide occurred about 2 a.m. on the first floor of the residence at S. Vogdes Street and Chester Avenue.

The victim was shot in the chest, back and arms and found lying on his stomach, Small said. Eight shell casings were found.

A 9mm handgun was found in the living room near the body. Drug paraphernalia was also discovered in the house.

Three other adults were in the house at the time and are being questioned.

Police believe the motive might have been robbery. They are searching for a dark-complexioned man wearing a black tank top.
