A North Wales man was sentenced Wednesday to five years in a federal lockup for possession of child porn.

Scott L. McQuirns, 53, was ordered to report to federal prison in April.

A forensic examination of McQuirns' computer hard drive found more than 600 images and videos of child porn. The government's examiner determined there were at least 300 videos and approximately 40,000 images, the U.S. Attorneys office said.

Some of the images depicted pre-pubescent individuals engaged in sexual intercourse, sadistic or masochistic conduct and bondage, the government said.

In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge Legrome D. Davis also ordered McQuirns to pay a $5,000 fine and serve five years of supervised release once his prison term is completed.
