Three people, including one pedestrian, were fatally injured in three separate overnight traffic accidents in the Philadelphia area.

At 8:38 p.m. Friday, Sharon Minnick, 50, of Pottstown was crossing Easton Road near Girard Avenue in Horsham when she was struck by a Lincoln Town Car traveling south, Horsham Township Police said.

The Lincoln's driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Minnick was wearing dark clothes when she was hit.

The second fatal accident occurred at about 11:33 p.m. Friday in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

Police said a 25-year-old man on a motorcycle tried to avoid a 2009 Toyota Corolla that pulled out of a Wawa lot in front of him. The motorcycle slid, hitting the rear fender of the car and a light pole, police said. He was pronounced dead a short time later. The motorcyclist's name was not released.

In a third accident, a 2008 Acura driven by Vernon Fegley Jr., 43, entered the northbound lane of Route 212 about 3:21 a.m. Saturday in Springfield Township, Bucks County. Fegley's car went onto the berm of the roadway and hit a telephone pole, state police said. The vehicle continued southbound in the grass berm and struck two trees. The car finally stopped facing northbound.

Fegley, of Northampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passengers, two women and one man, all 28, were transported to hospitals with extensive injuries, state police said, but did not provide other details.

The investigation by state police is continuing.
