A statement from the Transportation Security Administration said: "Out of an abundance of caution, passengers have been deplaned and the aircraft is being swept by law enforcement due to a threatening note."
US Airways Flight 769 arrived at 2:28 p.m. after a flight from Glascow, Scotland, and 150 passengers left the plane, said airport spokeswoman Victoria Lupica.
The plane was towed to a remote location to be searched, she said.
Lupica said no terminals were evacuated.
At 7:39 p.m., the Fire Department declared the incident under control.
