Motorcyclist killed in Bucks County

A man was killed when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle Tuesday night on Bridgetown Pike in Middletown Township, Bucks County, police said.

The motorcycle was heading west, just off Route 413, past the Bridgetown Mill House, after 9 p.m. and was about to cross a two-lane bridge, when it crashed, township Sgt. Pete Feeney said at the scene. "It does not look like another vehicle was involved," he said.

Police were trying to identify the victim, and accident reconstructionists were trying to determine the cause. Feeney said they could not tell whether the victim was wearing a helmet, because debris strewn over a guardrail needed to be examined.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Station 21 and the Penndel-Middletown Rescue Squad also responded.
