Two more care workers have been arrested and charged in the abuse of an elderly dementia patient at a well-known Delaware County nursing home facility, police said.

The announcement comes as officials confirm that the state's Department of Public Welfare, which oversees licensing and inspections of personal care homes, also is conducting a "parallel" investigation into the facility.

Arrested today were Tyrina Griffin, 21, and Ayesha Muhammad, 19, both of Philadelphia.

They are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal conspiracy, harassment, neglect of a care-dependent person and other related crimes.

The two worked at the Quadrangle Sunrise Senior Living, 3300 Darby Rd., Haverford, and allegedly taunted and physically abused a 78-year-old woman, suffering from dementia.

On Wednesday, Samirah Traynham, 22, of Yeadon, was arrested and charged in the case.

"Why do they keep picking on me?" Lois McCallister asked her family, who suspected abuse at the well-known Delaware County facility and installed the hidden camera, according to court documents.

McCallister is now living with family.
