Two trolleys collided under Market Street near City Hall this morning, halting service in Center City for an hour and slightly injuring six people, officials said.

The accident at 13th and Market Streets came a day after a fire at the Girard Avenue station disrupted service on the Broad Street Subway Line through Tuesday's evening rush hour.

SEPTA officials said a No. 10 trolley ran into the back of a halted No. 34 trolley at the Juniper station at about 11 a.m.

The trolley was traveling less that 8 miles per hour, the maximum speed that the automatic-control system permits in station areas, when hit ram into the rear of the other trolley.

Service returned to normal at 12:05 p.m.

Firefighters at the scene and SEPTA said six people complained about minor injuries and were taken to hospitals to be checked out
