Passengers aboard a US Airways flight bound for Bermuda were delayed for more than 6 hours at Philadelphia International Airport "due to a security concern," said a spokesman for US Airways.

According to the FBI, a crew of three baggage handlers was dispatched to load luggage onto Flight 1070. When they arrived at the aircraft, they found a fourth man already there in uniform. They did not recognize him. When they asked the fourth man why he was there, he clambered onto a baggage cart and drove it away.

The handlers alerted supervisors who called police.

More than 100 passengers and 5 crew members were evacuated from the aircraft, and the Airbus 319 was towed away from the terminal.

Bomb-sniffing dogs, a Hazmat team, Philadelphia police and FBI agents combed the airliner. No explosives were found on the plane and the incident was not believed to be terror-related, said J.J. Klaver, an FBI spokesman.

"Everything was negative," Klaver said. "No hazardous materials, no contraband, nothing illegal."

An airport spokeswoman said the incident had not had an impact on other arrivals and departures at Terminal A.

"Anytime there's a security concern we take it very seriously and act on it," said spokeswoman Victoria Lupica.

Federal authorities were working with U.S. Airways last night to identify the mystery baggage handler.
