Cabbie shot, critically wounded in Camden

A 47-year-old cabdriver was shot and critically wounded today during a suspected robbery in Camden, officials said.

Intial reports that police took a man into custody were unfounded.

Police responded to a report of a cab crashed through a fence off I-676 at 9th and Cherry about 2:30 a.m. and found the victim aout 150 yards from the vehicle.

He had been shot multiple times and taken to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition.

Police are seeking the shooter.
