A man was struck by a train at the PATCO station in Collingswood Monday night, halting service for an hour, authorities said.

The man, whose age was not available, was "alive and talking," said Ed Kasuba, spokesman for the Delaware River Port Authority, which oversees PATCO. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man was hit by a westbound train about 10:00 p.m. and PATCO shut down service in both direction so that emergency crews could respond, Kasuba said. Service resumed about 11 p.m.

It was not immediately known why the man was in the track area, Kasuba said.
