Wrigley East? 45 m.p.h gusts may greet Phillies-Rockies

Tomorrow afternoon might be an adventurous one for Phillies' rightfielder Jayson Werth and his Rockies' counterpart, Brad Hawpe.

Tomorrow afternoon might be an adventurous one for Phillies' rightfielder Jayson Werth and his Rockies' counterpart, Brad Hawpe.

Along with that nasty, oblique October sun, they may be dealing with wind gusts over 45 m.p.h. during the game, says the National Weather Service, which has posted a wind advisory for the region.

The winds will be howling from the west, more or less from the leftfield foul stands toward rightfield.

As for the sun, Werth and Hawpe better bring their shades. It is expected to become more prominent as the day wears on, with any rain ending by late morning.

The winds will be generated by a strong cold front - it's that time of year - that will approach tonight and sweep through the region tomorrow morning.

As for Thursday, it should be sunny and calmer, with winds 8 to 10 m.p.h., and temperatures around 70, right about where they should be.
