ATLANTIC CITY - Police say a 7-year-old from Philadelphia is in critical condition after he nearly drowned in the family pool at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City.

Police say doctors at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center were able to revive the boy yesterday and he was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

The family pool in the Harbour Tower is open to minors, but those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Harrah's spokeswoman Alyce Parker says she believes no lifeguards were on duty, but one of the boy's parents was present, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Police say the family was in Atlantic City on vacation. Their names and the name of the victim were not released.
